1. Introduction
The CommandSTAR Lite Host Interface Module (CHIB) is a member of the
Monitoring and Control Network (MCN™) family of User Interface Modules.
Hardware specifications and configuration information are described in this
manual.
The CHIB module connects to a CommandSTAR Lite Console. The CHIB
module is used with the MCN RCD software and a Comparator I/O Module (such
as a CIB or AIB) to create a comparator display system on the CommandSTAR
Lite console. For status display, the CHIB module maps the Vote, Receive,
Disable, and Fail indications to the console LEDs. For control, the CHIB maps
the Force Vote and Disable buttons on the console to the corresponding function
on the Comparator I/O Module (AIB or CIB).

Motorola Command Starlite Manually Watch
I recently won a couple of government surplus CommandSTAR Lite consoles. The REALLY nice ones built into workstations.
Our local sheriffs office has a CommandSTAR Lite consolette, but doesn't have the software for it. According to the Motorola brochure; every console ships with it's own software. Naturally; The Motorola shops / installers; hang on to the software... But to buy it from Motorola (NLA) was over $800.00 USD! Just damn! I also know that the software is firmware specific. Yes and No. It's like the radios. The version of software has to meet the level of firmware, so it's not horribly specific. I don't know what Rev firmware I'll have, since they're still in shipment.
Just looking for anyone who has more knowledge than I do about the topic; and possibly a version(s) of CDSM Lite software that they may be willing to share.
Anyone ever worked on these beasts? Any tips, tricks, warnings, words of wisdom?
Thanks!
